Ward Halloween Party

FYI...I had nothing to do with the ward Halloween Party except bring a few things and my kids and enjoy it. It was great and those who planned it and decorated did a fantastic job. Victoria took these pictures and a few others. I thought it would be fun to look back and remember all of these church friends one day!

Halloween Costumes!

Katherine was DocMcKatherine! My new neighbor and friend, Hilary, made this whole costume possible! It was precious and Katherine loved it! She gave Katherine these scrubs. They used to be her son Marcus's. She also let us borrow the coat and stethescope. Then, she went above and beyond my making the name badge, charts, and even sticker band aids! Katherine couldn't contain herself when she saw these things and has already been putting the bandaids on her stuffed animals. I couldn't be happier with how adorable this was!

Grant was Batman! He changed his mind several times and wore a Luigi costume to his friend's birthday party. Funny side story. The kids and I went to a friend's birthday party in costume. It wasn't a costume party. Bwahahaha! We are crazy.

Anyway, Grant apparently has a hard time deciding for things like this. He just likes to pull a random costume from the dressup box. We let him and encourage it too. It is way easy! He can play until the last minute and then come down 2 minutes later in full costume. He looked tough.

Christian was a mad scientist! Once again I can credit a fried for the whole costume! Our friend from church, Ellen Peterson, lent this labcoat, goggles, testubes, and beaker to us! He looked awesome! We added a little gray to his hair and later some face paint to look like he made some sort of explosion. By the way, this Mrs. Peterson, was Victoria's science teacher last year. She is an amazing teacher!

Victoria chose to make a dalmation outfit, late in the week. It looked adorable and her hair and makeup did too! Because, of course, she did it herself. 

Grant's pumpkin party!

Friday, the 30th, was a busy day at Carrollton. A couple PTA friends and I distributed the cupcakes to the teachers and staff. Then, a few of us helped with duty-free lunch while others set up for the book fair, which will be next week and the following. Then, I got to go to Grant's pumpkin party.

It was fun! We did a scientific investigation about pumpkins! We learned a lot. Then, we got to carve it! I brought the pumpkin and Grant home from school after. :)

Halloween prep

Things were busy at our house the week of Halloween. We tend to have 1 or 2 things going on every evening. This particular week seemed crazy, but we were able to get some things accomplished too. 

Victoria made herself a costume without any help. 

I made 10 dozen pumpkin spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting on Thursday. I needed help! My friend, Shiloh was awesome and helped me frost them! She is better at that sort of thing than I am and I needed some tips. She stayed and helped me put them into cups and bags too. I was thankful! Then, later, my friend, Hilary, came over and helped me tie on the tags and spoons. Major help! These were mainly for the teachers and staff at Carrollton, Grant's school, but I made a few extra dozen to bring to the church party and to bring to Christian and Victoria's teachers.

Victoria and Christian helped me that night by making dinner too. It was cute.

I finished with the treats around Midnight and delivered them to the teachers the next morning. I think they enjoyed them. 

Grandma and Grandpa came for the weekend!

My parents came to watch the boys soccer games and we invited them to stay the weekend.

Christian played a great game. He is a good defensive player. Unfortunatelt, his team this year had a tough season and never won any games. They still had a lot of fun though.

After soccer we came home for lunch then we went to Darden Farm for the pumpkins and festivities. The kids had fun in the corn, on the hay bales, in the corn maze, and on the equipment.

After, we went to the VA Living Museum and played and showed Grandma and Grandpa around. Then we picked out pumpkins and treats at Walmar. and went to dinner. Danny had to leave us to help get a prescription for a kids from his school. Long story!Anyway, he missed a portion of our day, but then met back up with us. My parents treated us to dinner. We went to Cafe Rio. It was yummy! Then, we came home an got ready for bed. V and Grandma had fun looking at Duggar and Bates pictures etc. on the computer. They are funny.

The next morning they came with us to church for the Primary Program. It was Victoria's last 1. She didn't have a part, but sang all the songs. Grant read a line in the program and did very well. Christian wrote a brief talk about Gethsemane. We thought he did a great job! We enjoyed the program. I sat on the stand with my class. My students, Madison, Jaden, and Seth did a great job too. They are a great group of kids.

We were glad that Grandma and Grandpa came to spend the night.

Blue and Gold Day

Victoria wore makeup to school for blue and gold day for spirit week. She looked so cute!

I wanted to try it on too. So after she went to the bus stop I tried it on. It looked silly on my so I wiped it off, but really I wiped it all over my whole head. I pretty much wore it to the bus stop too!
