We feel really blessed to have some great friends around here. On one of our snow days, we had an impromptu outing/gettogether with the Hamiltons and the Vogels. We did Zumba in the morning (Courtney is our awesome instructor) and then thought we could get together and do something fun in the afternoon. So, we all went home and made cookies, met at our house and put them on plates and then took them to the nursing home in our town. Both of their families knew some people there. We weren't allowed to give the cookies away (we probably should have thought of that), but we were able to sing and spend time visiting and it was really great. Then we came back and had dinner together. We had baby Jesus hot dogs (hotdogs in cresent rolls) on hay(shoestring fries). It was an idea I copied from Danny's mom. And we ate some of our cookies afterward too. Fun afternoon. Here are lots of pictures of the kids spreading love and holiday cheer. They really did make people happy.

Grant's hugs made this lady's day! She was so excited that he just came up and hugged her when she asked him to. Christian hugged her too.
Rudolph the red nosed reindeer
We wish you a merry Christmas!
We took a lap down this hallway singing.
And stopped in this cafeteria to sing/put on a show! They were a tiny bit excited(or crazy, as I like to say), but people thought they were funny and cute.
This is a lady that the Vogels knew. I love how Cally was so sweet and gentle with her.
Some ladies in the cafeteria loved Christian and did not want him to go. This woman told him, "Oh, you are so sweet. I bet Santa is going to bring you a whole sack of presents!" That made him feel pretty special. He repeated it several times. Just a reminder about the power of a kind word, even to a stranger.
V got a hug and a kiss too.
I think the kids had fun. I think we'll need to go back more often. We used to visit some friends from church in a rest home a lot in Belmont, and we got out of the habit. I think we should restart it. It makes everyone involved feel good.
