We started the month with General Conference and Danny's birthday!
I think I mentioned that I am so thankful that Ms. Mitchell posts pictures on the theater Instagram! Look at Christian and friends during homecoming spirit week! So much fun!
A really cool part of spirit week was the academic jacket and All A ceremony.
Christian had an A average all through high school and earned an academic jacket!
He got straight A's through Jr. year as well and got a medal for that.
I have to take all of these principal father and son pictures because it is his Senior year!

Next came medals! Unfortunately, Christian's friend, Dash's parents were unable to make it, so Christian had the really special honor of being able to put his jacket on him.
It was cool to be able to put his jacket on him. He has earned it and has worked hard to maintain an A average through high school, even when the pandemic made things so weird for a couple years!
I hugged him too, but just don't have that picture.
Congratulations to these hard-working Seniors!

What a special night for these kids and for the families too!
Just look at them rocking the coats afterward! (We went to Chick-fil-A.)
Katherine was a co-anchor on her school news for the week! She and Hadley did a great job!
G continued to enjoy fallball and got some great practice and coaching!
We all enjoyed the homecoming game! Danny was working and making the rounds. Grant hung out with his 8th grade friends. K and I hung out together and V met us there. C and Mia hung out in the student section, but graciously came to visit me for a bit. Love them!
Victoria took some beautiful and hilarious pictures of Christian and Mia in our neighborhood before they went out to dinner and to the dance.
A funny one first- Danny and C unintentionally wore nearly identical outfits. I am pretty sure that V and I persuaded Danny to change since C and Mia arranged to coordinate.
Didn't they look so pretty?
They had a fun night!
Katherine and I participated in a fun trunk-or -treat at Yowell. It was moved inside due to weather, but was still a great time! Thanks for friends who took pictures!
V and Alex went away to DC for the weekend and had a great time with friends and meeting new friends.
Have I mentioned that I think my boys are adorable when they are asleep?
Katherine had a great cheering section at her Pirate's game this weekend.
Grant got to play 1st base at this game, which was fun!
I was really sad not to be able to make it, but I was able to help prep for this fun Graduation party for my friend, Krista, who earned her Masters.
Katherine and her friend, Faith, were able to do a cool project together for their ACE class. They invented "Spicy Ice" which is spicy mochi. They created a website, billboard, and commercials and had to present it to guest judges as well.
Occasionally we get Katherine's closet back in order. I don't think the rest of the room was picture ready yet, but lets celebrate what we can. She likes cleaning and organizing at school, so maybe one day it will transfer to her room. We shall see.
I love when V doesn't have a plan for her Monday and we can do something fun! V and I went on a new-to-us hike in Shenendoah. The sun was bright which was not too attractive for this picture, but felt great! Yay for beautiful fall weather and for an awesome hiking buddy!
Danny and I had a fun date to the BYU vs Liberty game. The game was pretty disappointing, but we still enjoyed our time together and at Macados too.
Katherine's school had a mustache day and I loved this funny picture of the girls in her class.
I was happy that Danny was able to do some fall sailing with his friends, John, Archie, and Gordon. (He went out with the girls soon after too on another warm October day.)
The younger kids and I went to the trunk or treat at church.
V and Kate and I all looked a little witchy for church.
Grant and I went to a really cool fireside. A guest speaker came and talked about his adventures hiking Mt. Everest! We loved hearing about it and felt inspired to set and achieve goals!
Christian and Mia were peanut butter and jelly at school for Halloween. I will add a picture if C has one. (This was from the theater Instagram again!)
Nikki Tanner came up with a pretty funny costume to wear for Halloween!
They were all spot on, but somehow Danny wore the wrong pants today! I loved it!
I had a fun Halloween subbing in the art classroom.
That night we were going to go to Rappahannock with the Genhos again, but we all decided that we just weren't really feeling it. It was rainy and Katherine had already done 2 trunk or treats, so she just went to a few houses in our neighborhood. Hardly anyone was out and about though, so neighbors were very generous with candy and in one case, money! We also went to the haunted drive through car wash, but it was closed. Lastly, we stopped by and saw some friends who were giving out candy at a local shopping center. Katherine saw some friends from school there, so that was fun.
Victoria hosted a small YSA Halloween party here.
Happy Halloween!
