Valentine's Day
I don't remember too many details about the day even though it was only last month.
So, I will share a few tidbits that I remember and the 2 pictures that I took.
I gave the kids each a clothing item that they needed or might like and a mini box of chocolates and a little note each.
Christian brought Daniella pretty roses!
I made and delivered (and tried to deliver without too much success) cookies for the ladies who I minister to for church.
Danny and I went on a casual and fun dinner date to 309 Grill. I love my Valentine and really like that he and I are going on more dates lately. They are often hard to squeeze in, but it is good for us and really fun, to have more one on one time.

Grandma and Grandpa visit!
Grandma and Grandpa came to spend the night! They brought Valentine's treats for everyone and birthday presents for Katherine. We ate the yummy chocolate covered strawberries for an afterschool snack. They gave Katherine a card with money to buy a new bike and a few little things so she could open something. So sweet! They took C, G, K, and I to dinner at Panera. Then, we went to watch V cheer. It was Senior Night and a Girls Varsity game and then a Boys Varsity game.
They are amazing grandparents- so generous, thoughtful, and involved!

Girls Trip with Ashley to Ocean City!
Ashley and I had a weekend full of fresh air, shopping, good food and laughter!

I drove to Carrollton so we could rode trip together, then Ashley drove us up the Eastern Shore towards Ocean City. Our first stop was in a cute little town called Berlin. It had a really cute main street and we enjoyed several of the little shops.
Then, we hit the beach- even in the winter it is beautiful!
We had a great view from our hotel room.
That night we went to a pizza place that was really good.
We explored Ocean City for a bit and then went to Homegoods. I bought some things with my gift card from Christmas.
We went to get ice cream and the brownie sundae I got was humongous, but they were both so good. It was cold outside, so we got in Ashley's car.
This song was on and it was hilarious to hear it and think of ice cream- "Take away all my sadness" "Ease my troubles, that's what you do!" Perfect ice cream anthem!
Ashley was so sweet to bring fun masks for us to do!
We didn't really come with a plan other than to relax. The next day we got up and rolling at a leisurely pace and then basically shopped til we dropped! We scored serious bargains at the outlets! Carter's clearance was 50% off and we had fun buying really cute things for Gracie and Katherine, each item cost between 2 and 5 dollars. We also hit Gymboree, Old Navy, Gap, and Adidas and found great things there too- thankfully some things for the boys and V too. Winter things are on clearance at the end of February! Some of the things that I bought will be for Christmas! We had fun browsing through souvenir and local shops too. We stopped only for dinner- we had Mexican. The locally recommended restaurant was way overpriced and they didn't bring chips and salsa, but their southwestern eggrolls were amazing!
The next morning we got yummy hot chocolate for breakfast. We went to Assateague Island to see the ponies and saw some! We also went to the visitors center there and spent some time looking around.
We had a nice drive back and I visited with Ashley's sister-in-law Stephanie and the kids.
Then, before making the trek back to Culpeper, I visited Craig and Lorel and the kids. That was really fun too!
I felt so blessed to have a fun, relaxing, rejuvenating weekend with friends!

Super Bowl
We went over to Bobby and Kattia's house to watch the super bowl. It was fun- good company, good food, and good entertainment.
Megan made that chocolate cake and V made the cookie cake.
Pretty amazing spread (wings and drinks too)

The girls (the boys were there too though!)

SkyZone
We didn't take any pictures jumping, but one Satuday night we crazily didn't have anything to do. This felt very odd, so we bought a groupon and went to the Skyzone, a trampoline park, in Fredricksburg. We all jumped, dunked basketballs, jumped into pits, tried the Ninja Warrior course and more. Danny can still do flips on trampolines. Some of his students and parents were there and I think they were impressed. I had a very embarrassing moment on the obstacle course. I was doing a good job and got to the last section. It was 3 hanging door type structures. I got on the third and last one, but couldn't grab the knob that led to the ending platform. I became terrified of falling for some reason and was clinging on for dear life. My arms were starting to shake, but I didn't want to give up at first and just felt afraid to fall next. Danny was telling me to just fall to the mat below, but I thought I was going to hit my face or something on the door, so I couldn't let go. I finally fell and it was totally fine- falling on an air cushion. My fear was totally irrational, but really real and out of nowhere. Honestly, the next day I had bruising on my arms and chest from clinging so tightly. Yikes, what the heck! I really don't know what triggered that craziness. It was a great workout and was overall a lot of fun! I would definitely go again, but I am unsure about whether I would try the ninja course again. On the way out Katherine added her sticker to this giant sticker ball.

Mother Son Bingo
Grant and I had a fun time going to Mother/Son Bingo at Yowell!
We didn't win any bingo games though. Boo!
But Grant won a consolation prize of a ball that counts your catches! Perfect thing for him!

January Jumble
I was so pleased with Grant when he did all of his laundry including folding it!
Glue and glitter art
Katherine has built a lot of things with her Kinex (Mighty Makers). She is really good at building things by looking at the directions.
I took V and Morgan to a youth movie night at the Genho's house. I stayed and had fun with Lynnie putting away Christmas decorations.
Danny and Katherine build a cool snow man. Grant joked that he looked like Donald Trump.
This was Christian's spot in the lobby of the pool. I met him there after practice and drove him home. We had fun in the car together a lot of nights. Sometimes he was super tired and we just rode home silently- that was ok too.
I love it when these guys play together.
Grant got a bunch of awards at the 1st semester awards assembly. He got the principal's list for both 9 weeks. He also got a new award that they started this year- "Determined Stallion Award!" Great work, Grant, you definitely are a determined one!
Katherine really liked seeing her friend, Lilly, at some of the basketball games!
They are super fun and cute together!
Chloe turned 16. These friends are super cute together too.
