Sept Misc.

Making nature soup at a rainy day playdate!

A real look into how our house looks during at home learning days! Eeeeeekkkk!!! A hot mess!

I love that this plant attracts butterflies.

Christian is the only student in his small animal care class this semester, so he is getting a lot of hands on practice.

We ate a really good dinner and watched Mulan at Bobby and Kattia's house.

We went to the river for Labor Day. Scott and Chrissy and fam came too.

Another park playdate. These girls worked hard to make a cool fort. I think V has pictures.

Virtual learning, chalk art,

We made personalized playdough.

They chose cool scents and colors.

Beauty in our yard.

Really cool cowboy party for Patrick's birthday! Complete with bandana masks.

More fun with the bandanas.

Nail with washer in my tire made lots of noise! Danny fixed it for me.
G and K made forkies, complete with gum.

Beauty on My Morning Walk

When the kids go to school on Thursdays and Fridays, I have been taking morning walks at parks. I took these at Rockwater Park. I walk there with my friend Rachel every Thursday at 10. I really enjoy the beauty of our earth and time with a friend/

Outdoor Movie Night Party

Napoleon Dynamite is on the big screen for Grant and his friends!

Birthday parties during covid are a little more complicated, but this was a great solution. We had a backyard movie night for Grant and his friends! We only had individually packaged food and drinks, set out hand sanitizer, and spread out chairs in the back yard (some of the chairs got moved.) We weren't too worried about it, but at the same time, you never know and don't want to be responsible for people getting sick.

They had a fun time!

They did wind up coming inside, but it seemed like the parents were ok with the idea of them gathering.

They played air hockey,

hit the punching bag,

and played hide-and-seek. Who is that behind the curtain?

and in the washing machine?! Oh no! He propped it open and was ok. Luckily, our machine still works too. Haha! It was a good time. Grant loved it and was spoiled with presents from friends!

Grant's 12th Birthday!

Birthday Boy wanted a donut for breakfast! They were each in individual boxes due to covid (corona virus).

His birthday was a Thursday, so he had school. He said that it was good day.

We had a family celebration after dinner.
He wanted to open presents first thing after dinner!
Victoria and Christian bought him gifts together. One gift was a candle because he loves to smell things and also likes fire.
The second gift was a hoodie that he wanted.
I had him reenact the handshake sequence that he and Christian did.

Katherine and I gave Grant some books in a series that he is reading. He read the first book in the Ender's Game series by Orson Scott Card. When I  came across a ton of books from the series on Marketplace, I knew he would be thrilled with them.

Lastly, he opened these boxing gloves! He was super pumped because he knew that that meant that there was a punching bag! Also an awesome Marketplace score for G-man! Workout gear is majorly marked up these days, so a new one was way over budget. However, we found a like new condition used one! Woohoo, Grant was pumped! (Video wouldn't post properly).

We planned to play games next, but he really wanted to try out the new bag. We were glad that he was so happy. We did play a couple games that were really fun. We played "Guess that Smell" and ____________.
Lastly, we sang Happy birthday and had a birthday dessert. He lit his own candle before we sang.

Grant requested brownies and Neopoliton ice cream for dessert.

I think it is safe to say that he had a fantastic birthday!
