River Weekend

I can't remember all of the details of the weekend with Katherine, Grant, and Craig and Lorel's fam, but I did remember this skit! It was .... interesting, to say the least. I think we eventually had to end it after a few questionable lines and a baby was thrown overboard by a wicked stepmother. There were some funny moments, but also scary stuff. I really might have had nightmares.

The many faces of V and an 80's Dance

I love time in the car with V! She and I have so much fun together! Ok, how can she look so cute making so many faces? This last one cracks me up- she makes 80's hair and makeup and a funny face looks sexy and I look as awkward as can be!

V loved going to the dance with Camila! It is fun to be only an hour away!

Kate- Not a fan of Mornings, Uniforms or Cheer Shoes!

Usually Katherine is happy as a clam! I would say that she is happy about 95% of the time- a very EASY child to parent. However, when she is not, she is not!
Katherine was up late watching the football game and she was tired in the morning.
Even though she was super tired, she thought she was really excited to get her uniform.

But it turns out, she hated the way it felt! She only wanted to wear it with a tshirt under it. And her normal sneakers. The new ones felt too puffy! (FYI, the transition from crocs to sneakers has been extremely difficult every year.  She was just barely getting used to wearing these for school)

If I hadn't taken pictures, people who know her would not believe that she ever acted this way. I thought it was good to remember  for one day when she is a mother. V and I both had extreme trouble with the way things felt as children, so it appears to run in the family. It wasn't really worth a fight, so she sat on my lap.

I knew that she was frustrated with herself and embarrassed and I was really frustrated and embarrassed too. I love her though and knew she needed kindness because asking and pleading didn't help and neither did getting mad. I tried to be as patient as possible. Danny came at half time and pretended that he didn't know that she hadn't cheered the whole first half because of her shoes. (I had texted him to give him a head's up while he was at Grant's baseball game.) He said, "Oh, halftime is almost over. Time to put your shoes back on! I can't wait to watch you cheer!"

And, like a light switch, she was fine!

Cute and happy as could be!

Thank goodness!

She really had fun!

And enjoyed the goldfish afterward!

Get fired up!

We love watching V cheer on Varsity on Friday Nights!

Their team is really awesome this year! They conditioned hard this summer and it shows! Strong, athletic girls!

American Ninja Warrior

So, this isn't really a picture of this, but shows one of the settings of our early morning American Ninja Warrior Obstacle courses.  Often in the morning before school we make up an obstacle course and then time each other doing it! It is so much fun and great exercise!

Another CC Meet

Christian is getting more comfortable and a little faster every time. We are proud of his hard work. He is following all of the coaches rules. For example, coach said no soda, so even when we go out to eat he drinks water.  We love getting out there and cheering for him. We think it is really cool that he joined a high school team. It will make the transition to high school even smoother, having friends there!

Pre-race
They started the home races with an ROTC canon! Boom!

I like seeing these people together!

V came out to cheer him on after her practice too. She is excited for him to be involved in CCHS sports. Go Christian!

Park and Pooh Sticks

Sometimes when we go to the park before school we play pooh sticks. We drop sticks on one side of the bridge and see whose gets to a certain point on the other side first. Fun times!

Katherine Cheers for her 1st game

The uniforms weren't ready yet, so they wore either their camp shirt or a white shirt.

She had a fun time! She really likes the other girls and loves her coaches, Deana and Alana.

She also liked getting a snack afterward.

She is growing up, but she still holds hands in the parking lot.

Katherine enjoyed it!

Christian runs cross country

Christian tried a new sport this year- Cross country. He started out pretty slow, but he is gaining strength and endurance. This has been so good for him! He feels really good and is making new friends.

We are really proud of him!
