We are buying a new home in Farmville

and here it is....
Despite being kinda sad about moving in 3 weeks, I am starting to feel pretty excited about the new house! It took us quite a bit of looking and a little stretching, but we think that it paid off. It is a really nice home and will be great for our family! All the bedrooms are on the same floor, it has a basement and a garage, has a nice yard, and is in a fantastic neighborhood! The previous owners were the builder and his wife. He built the home for his family in the early 50s. It has some really neat closets and built in storage which I love! Organization doesn't come so naturally to me, but I really appreciate it and strive for it. I like for everything to have a "home" and this house is great when it comes to storage. Some rooms need some updating, but the kitchen was recently remodeled and looks great. I'll post inside pictures as we work on each room. I'll do before and after pics. But the best way to see it is to come visit! Everyone is welcome!

Jaguar Homecoming and parade

Homecoming was today!

The stadium was decorated with banners and balloons.

The football players ran through the banner. They played a great game!

The cheerleaders did a great halftime routine, but they were facing the other cheerleaders, so here is a pic of some of them coming off the field. Look at how confident V looks.
She loves cheering especially when she was wearing the crown! It was very cold and most of the girls wore their coats, but V would only bring a red sweater since "it matches." Where would she get that?
Victoria had a good cheering section too. When they did "Hey all you Jaguar fans", we definitely participated. She still thinks we're funny. One day she probably will not like us to be so noticeable.

Here Victoria is getting in her spot for the parade.

We didn't know the count, Tom Powell, but I guess they had a little time to chat.Danny got to drive them in the parade. He lined up two of the 4 convertibles for the parade. Great job, Danny. And thank you so much to the generous dealerships! This is a picture of the other sports car that came. Pretty cool, huh? The guy driving it worked for the dealership and was excited because his boss said if he drove it in the parade he could keep it all weekend. Inside is Breanna, the true Homecoming "Queen." She is a really sweet girl. So, Breanna's mom, Mitsi, asked me who was more excited about the convertible. Well, I'm not sure. :)Danny enjoyed driving it and V and Christian wanted to drive it back to the Haley dealership.

So, it was a fun day for all of us.

Homecoming carnival and Pep rally with a suprise!

We had a fun time at the Jacobs Athletic Association's homecoming carnival last night. Actually, Danny and I were looking at homes in Farmville with our realtor, Glenda. Danny had a football game to attend last night, but I tried to get back in time for the carnival. I was running a tad late, so my mom who was watching the kids took them and I met her up there. I really appreciated it! It is hard to take 3 kids, a stroller, 3 coats, a blanket, a diaper bag, and a pan of cupcakes to a crowded carnival. She watched one of V's friends there too. Thanks again mom- I know it was no small task. Hope you had a bit of fun though. The kids did.

The kids had their faces painted and played the lollipop game.

They played the duck game, ring toss, pumpkin bean bag toss, football throw, tin can knock down, 2 liter bowling, cupcake walk, etc. They had fun and won some candy!

Then, there was a pep rally in the gym (it was indoors this year because it was rainy). Christian and Grant were great. Grant was especially still because he was enjoying this lollipop!
So, at the pep rally we had a great surprise.... Victoria was crowned the homecoming queen (countess) for the flag squad! She was super excited and felt good about herself since the squad votes on it. I was so glad that I had my camera! Victoria hoped she would be it, but every girl does. I didn't want her to get her hopes up and didn't think that it would be her because no one had called me. I guess I for some reason thought they would have told the parents ahead of time. Anyway, It was a surprise to me too!

Here she is being crowned next to the count. She was so tickled with the tiara and roses! You all know she is ultra girly, right?!!
Congrats, Victoria!

Fun with a box!

Oh, what can you do with a box?
You can stand in it.
You can sit and take a ride!

You can hide.

and then pop out and say boo!
Or you can play peek-a-boo though a hole in the bottom.

Boxes are so much fun! Good thing we'll have a lot around here for a few weeks. We just made a low offer on a great house! Wish us luck!

Columbus Day = Apple Picking Day

Danny had the day off and V had a half day, so we took a fun trip up to Carter Mountain to pick apples. It is a fun fall tradition for us. The colors were beautiful and the apples were sweet. We had a great time. Enjoy the pics!

Pumpkin Patch Pics

On Saturday our family went to the Ashland Berry Farm to pick pumpkins. We planned to meet our friends, the Davidsons, up there. But, we knew we needed to make it out early because V had a football game to cheer for that evening. So, we went a little early to explore as a fam before we went with our friends on the hayride.

The boo house wasn't really scary, but was fun.

Trying to get the three kids to look at the camera at the same time was kinda tricky, but the pumpkins, gourds, mums, etc were so beautiful I had to at least try.
Warming up, wasn't too tricky thanks to the fire pit! The temperature definitely dropped during the day. It was warm in the morning, but when we got out of the car at the Berry farm we thought, 'uh oh! It's cold!'

Grant loved looking at the fish in the "Pond Shop" We had fun wandering around and looking at everything.

Then Jeff, Drea, Laurie, Jack, and Jeremy came! The even had an extra sweater which Victoria happily wore. We enjoyed the hayride to the pumpkin patch!

What cute boys!

We found some great pumpkins!
These are some of the pumpkins we picked. There is a an all you can carry for 20 dollar deal there. Danny held 7 (3 were pretty big ones). Jeff held 10! Good stacking and balancing!
It was a fun fall day with friends.

Apple Monkeys Drop-In Playcare

For those of you who live in UT, I have exciting news! My best friend Paige is opening a great new business this week in the Salt Lake area. It is called Apple Monkeys Drop-In Play Care. In short, it is an hourly daycare. It is fun for the kids and allows parents to have a little break to run errands, go to appointments, go on a date, go to the temple etc. without kids and without having to find a babysitter or a regularly scheduled daycare slot. She is fully licensed and daycare certified. She will be having a grand opening party soon to give everyone a chance to check it out. I'll add more specifics soon!

Thanks for the milkshakes, Geemaw!

Danny's mom, Susan, stopped by the other day and gave the kids some ice cream money. They were pretty excited about it. Victoria's school had Chick-fil-A night that night, so the kids and I went to that and then when we left we went around the drive thru and got milkshakes too! I took them to Sunday Park so they could play and enjoy the fun treat!
As you can see, they thoroughly enjoyed them!
Even baby Grant!
Thanks, Geemaw!

More preschool pics

We are having a good time with preschool this year. It was a really fun topic this week, insects, and the boys had a good time learning about insects, the letter I, the number 3, and ovals(and ovoids). I don't think that these pictures have much to do with insects, but I thought I'd post a couple anyway.

Zane did a great job with math!

Ansen had fun with letters and was very patient letting Grant touch them too.

Grant had fun climbing into the drawer of the step stool.

Christian had fun with the letters too and wrote his name with the magnets.

Danny turned 31!!!

So, Danny is getting older! We celebrated a day early because his birthday fell on a Friday and that meant football for him. We celebrated with a few presents and by going out to dinner as a family.
The mustache pictures were from that night.
We also suprised him in Farmville with some carrot cake cupcakes on his true birthday.
These pictures show the kids giving Danny his presents.
Redvines from Grant, Coke from Victoria
Cracklin Oat Bran from Christian, special cards from the kids, and clothes from me. I think he was least excited about the clothes, but he needed them.
As a Danny update, this summer he was offered and accepted a job in Farmville, VA at Prince Edward County High School as their Athletic and Activities Director. He is happy about the new job and we are happy for him. He's doing a great job and staying nice and busy there.
As a Soderholm family update, we sold our house a couple weeks ago and will be moving to Farmville shortly. It is interesting trying to find a home that suits our family's needs and is in our price range there, so wish us luck!

While V was warming up...and during the game

The boys had fun playing together, bouncing around, and crawling around while V warmed up with her squad.

Love this little striped diapered bottom crawling so quickly away.

This picture captures Christian's spirit so well. So much fun and such a boy!

Victoria is a great Jaguar cheerleader! Go big red!

She is sporting a cute paw print tatoo on her cheek, but it is kinda hard to tell in the pictures.
More cheering pictures to come. This was the first game and a few of the girls hadn't gotten their new uniforms yet. So, the later games will be better for taking group shots.

Coley family reunion pics

The family reunion was actually in September, but somehow I missed posting it. Oops.It is for the Coley's side of the family. (Danny's mom's side). We also celebrated Robert and Grant's birthdays there. We brought cupcakes and the boys opened some presents. We couldn't stay too long because V had a game in the afternoon. It was fun when we were there though. Just a few pictures, mainly of the kids.

Everyone loved holding and seeing the one year old, alright!

Robert and Christian played some baseball. The men seemed happy to pitch to them. They were both pretty good hitters.

Orion was the youngest member of the family.

Tia Sharon(Danny's aunt) made a family tree/map. By the way, last week Victoria found some painting tape too and copied this idea at our house.

Camila and V have always been good buddies.

Megan and Teagan are too.

Aiden is a cute little guy.

We were disappointed that Danny's parents weren't there, but 3 of their boys and their families were, so that branch was well represented. It was a pretty good turnout.
