My 38th birthday

I enjoyed my birthday freebies this month, including an avacolada for breakfast. I think my parents came for lunch that day and if I remember correctly we ate at Chili's. (I have a bad memory as I am writing this almost a year later and didn't take helpful pictures.) I sure love my parents. They are great ones. If they didn't come on my actual birthday, I am sure it was around it! They are very dependable and always remember birthdays! Sorry, guys, that my memory is so fuzzy. If you remember will you please comment below so that I can update?!
It was a beautiful spring day so I had a lovely walk at the park with these two "flower pickers" after school.

It still feels pretty new to be near DC. Danny and I headed there that evening to catch a Nats game. He has rubbed off on me. I like baseball a lot more now than I did when we were first married. Although, we loved going to the BYU baseball games together too!

We had a fun night together and the Nationals workers even brought me this rainbow cake!

I am not going to lie, having a birthday in a new town reminds me that I don't have close friends around. That is hard for me. However, I feel so loved by my family and am so thankful for them!
Look at these cute kids that my kids and sweet nieces made for me.

I loved these all so much and loved seeing them on my mantle for the next week!

Megan and Camila visit

Camila helped V prepare for her "faith garden."

We played in the gym at the high school- scooters are always a favorite!

We played an awesome pool noodle game that we made up that we have played several times since.

This time Danny and Christian were the last ones standing. Nice job!

A fun picture where I told the kids to go sit above the word that descibes them best. I love their thoughts and think that they are all right! Grant- strong, V-confident, Cristian- creative, Camila- inspired, Katherine- kind and Megan- creative.  They can all be all of these things though- they all have boundless potential and I can't wait to keep seeing all of the amazing things that they can do and be!

We took a little back of the truck ride down to the track and got in a little outdoor exercise. We saw coach Mark working with a girl, Paris, at the long jump pit. She was awesome and we tried it too. Did you know that Danny (who used to help coach track when he worked at James River) is pretty good at long jump? Coach Mark's daughter was there too and she and the younger kids had fun racing.

That night the big kids saw the newest Marvel movie. We had a fun weekend!

Another Katherine Photoshoot by V

I love how much fun these two have doing this sort of thing together- picking out the outfit, doing the hair, posing, taking pictures etc. Katherine has a really difficult time making eye contact with cameras (although she is practicing and getting better ), but you can tell through some of her grins and these exaggerated sassy faces how much she loves her big sister. So cute!

I didn't buy them, but these are some pics of the proofs.

V on stage

Victoria performed in the Spring Concert. I love that even in these blurry and off color pics, it is still easy to see V. I love watching her perform. She has had a fun time with show choir and is such a good dancer!

I have a few video clips that I will try to add later.

Art Show at Yowell

Yowell had an art show! It was a cool fundraiser and was fun to see some of the kids' best work. The art teacher, Mrs. Korona, chooses a variety of awesome projects for the kids and is so organized in her sharing the kids artwork! I love that we can see all of their work online, that they have events like this, and that my kids really like her and enjoy her class.

Christian got in on the creative fun too.

Katherine was excited to see her friend, Jaya, and her sister there.

Volunteer Appreciation

I was given this cute rice crispy treat flower to say thanks for being a volunteer at the elementary school. Things like this make my day.

Amelia Bedelia

Katherine was Amelia Bedelia for a book character day! She was so excited and so cute! I was so glad to reuse the apron that I made for Victoria's book character day, years prior! And thank you, Grace Cox, for your adorable example a couple years ago!

Cousins' Camp At Great Wolf Lodge

We were the first in the family to arrive at Great Wolf and  enjoyed some time together in the water park.

Geemaw and Papa joined us and we got Susan to ride the scariest funnel ride with us. She liked it.
Then cousins came and we all had fun together!

We brought a cake to celebrate Papa's 64th birthday.

I think he enjoyed the surprise!

Kattia and I went to the store and sent this fake "Hobby Lobby Challenge" picture to our girls.
The kids had a blast at the water park, playing magic quest, and just being together!

One funny story was when Kattia and Victoria and Camia and I went through the sonic drive through 3 times in a row. Long story, but it was hilarious!

We left on Sunday morning and went to church together.

After church we did a service project that Patrick Soderholm, Susan Soderholm, and Kattia Soderholm put together. We made kits and cards for Navy Sailors who will be on the USS Indiana. Everyone enjoyed lunch, baseball, horseshoes, the nice spring weather, and time with family too.
