Mom and Katherine (2 weeks)

Thank you, Courtney (Courtney Vogel Photography ), for encouraging me to be in a few shots with Katherine! I told her that I didn't really want to be in any, but she suggested a couple. A couple of these were posed, but mostly she took them when I didn't even notice that she was taking them. I really love them! It was awesome that Katherine's room got such good light too because I love the nursery background. I am really glad to have these and think that with time I will be even more glad to look back at myself as a mother of little ones. I really love my children, and especially love the newborn stage, so thank you for preserving that sentiment!

Katherine's Newborn Photo Shoot

This is going to be a very photo heavy post, but with good reason! My good friend, Courtney, Courtney Vogel Photography, took newborn photos of Katherine. Courtney is amazing and I love the photos. I think you will agree that Katherine is adorable! Enjoy! Grandparents, let us know which photo you prefer.

Wrestling trophies!

On Saturday, we went to a casual lunch/ trophy party for the wrestlers. Initially Danny had planned it to be at our house, but I told him that I wasn't quite up for 15 wild boys running around the house while I was  9 days post partum. It is nice that he thinks that I am super woman, but really I was a bit bugged so asked him to come up with another plan. So, Dominoes Pizza it was! The guys had a fun time!

Grant got the first trophy!

Christian was happy to receive his trophy too and was nice to take a minute to pose for me.

This was Grant's first trophy and he really liked it a lot! Can you tell?

They had a fun time with their friends and it was a good way to end the season.  Great job, fellows!
Danny did a good job coaching too and some of the parents went in to give him some gift cards, which was very nice!

Victoria and Katherine- such nice supportive sisters. This was Katherine's first outing aside from grandma and grandpa's house and her doctor's office. She slept like a champ! It was fun to introduce her/ show her off to some friends.

Bringing Love, Snow, and Snuggles

Just a couple pictures of Katherine's first week home. She brought a special peace and love to our house!

The first snow of the year came too! It was short lived, but Danny and the kids were able to play for a little while on Monday morning. (Feb 20). Danny took a couple pictures.

My mom came to stay from Monday afternoon until Friday evening because Danny went back to work on Tuesday.  She was such a huge help playing with Grant, making meals, cleaning, doing laundry, helping the kids with their homework, taking Grant to swimming lessons, etc. She also took sugar cookies with pink icing to the kids' school to share with their classmates. That was really fun for the kids. She's an awesome mom and grandma!

The kids love holding her, kissing her, reading, and singing to her. We're enjoying her so much!

Coming home!

On Saturday we were able to bring Katherine home.We were excited to take Katherine home, but at the same time I cried because I was a little nervous to leave the hospital. Even though it wasn't my favorite hospital experience, it was easy. It is pretty easy to only have to care for 1 baby and I was worried to have to go back to taking care of 3 kids and a baby. Danny felt like I could do it though. So, I appreciated his confidence. Plus, I knew I'd have help if I needed it.

Just a few cute Katherine pictures that I took before we left.

such a sweet little bundle, huh?

Then we dressed her in some real clothes and got ready to go.

She is so tiny, but we knew she would be at birth, so we had a couple little tiny newborn outfits ready for her.
She's ready to roll!

She slept straight through the car ride. I always think that the car-ride home is kinda magical and thought so this time too. Isn't she so sweet?

We actually didn't go straight home. We went to my parents house where the boys were. We stayed there for a few hours. Then, Danny and the guys went to pick up Victoria from a half-way point from Bobby's house. Bass Pro Shops- pretty fun. So they had a good time there, then came back for us.

Then, we all headed back to Farmville.

When we got there we were greeted by this sweet balloon from the Hamiltons.

and a present for each of the kids from our friends, the Magills. That was so thoughtful of them to give gifts to the older siblings and made them feel really good!

Grant fell asleep in the car, so Danny toted him upstairs first, but here we are... home with baby Katherine.

Katherine enjoyed her night at home in her pack n' play bassinet by mom and dad's bed. (Let's be honest, she really preferred being in mom's arms most of the night, but I was totally ok with that! Newborns don't stay newborns forever and I want to savor this special time. )
