April 2025

Spring Softball started back up! This time they are the Party Animals!

Coach Danny is happy to help with MCing Opening ceremonies.

K at 1st.

We enjoyed General Conference. I try to do something to make it fun and this time I put out donuts and papers to get the family to engage by writing 3 questions that you might like to have answers for. This one, "How can Mercy be used?" was an excellent question that was answered more fully during conference. It may have been answered in other talks too, but one was specifically about mercy. The Plan of Mercy It was especially meaningful because we were able to ask Heavenly Father to mercifully remove a situation that was causing our family a lot of stress. We were very thankful.

My favorite talk was this one. Definitely worth a listen!

When I met with the Stake YW Presidency for a meeting, we needed to decide what we wanted to share with the YW for ward conferences. Several of us all suggested the same talk! I made these little handouts to share with the YW in the stake.

I hope that they, and all people, will know that we are of infinite worth. We are children of God and He loves us and wants us to return to him!

I love visiting the different wards in the stake. This is a picture of us with Fall Hill.

Kate and I had a spring break geocache outing and picnic

I loved this picture of Jesus leaving the tomb!
Yummy asparagus tart that no one wanted, but everyone wound up loving it.

Road trip stop at Buckees!

Exploring Savannah and spending time with the Vasquez family was great! Unpictured, but super fun, were the kids trip with Anya and David to Tybee Beach and Paige and Danny and I's trip to SCAD. The SCAD story was so cool! Savannah is a beautiful city! I love the historic homes, the spanish moss, and more! I also loved a tempura cauliflower taco that I ate at a restaurant there. I have been talking about it for weeks.

Savannah Banana game was amazing! Would 100% reccommend seeing them at their home field in Savannah!

It was a super quick and super fun trip and on the way out we went through a wildlife preserve so we could see some alligators. Yay! We found them! We also found a spot that my brother would like- lots of cool birds!

Easter morning!

We look a little overtired still, but look at our adorable matching Easter Pjs from V! Thanks, Victoria!

We had a lovely Easter service! Christian was one of the speakers and gave a beautiful talk about the Savior's atonement.

We had a lovely time at my mom's house. She always makes sure that things are special. Everyone made good food too.

We had a pretty disappointing afternoon when we went to the Soderholm's house afterwards, like we do most Easters (some years we have had it on the previous or next Sunday or the day before, but mostly we have it on Sunday evening. We eat at my mom's house at 1 or 2 every year, then get to the Soderholms around 4 or 5 and eat at 6), and we realized upon arriving that they changed plans without letting us know. They ate and had the egg hunt without us. They even took a group picture without us. We were all extremely hurt, mad, or both. They probably think that I was the only one who was mad, because I was most vocal about it at the time. ( I am fiercely loyal to my husband and kids and do not like people to hurt them.) We were all very hurt, but decided to stay and visit with the grandparents. The weather was nice and we sat outside to chat. Danny later messaged the brothers to explain why that was hurtful. There were several sincere apologies, and we were able to move on. It is good to remember that successful family relationships require communication and forgiveness.

Katherine got to play a few extra games as a guest player for other teams this season. That was fun.

We enjoyed a stake youth service project at the end of the month. We cleaned up a local battlefield. I was so impressed with the hard work and happy, helpful attitudes. Afterward, we went to Wilderness for minigolf, a cookout, and yard games. Good stuff.
