Fourth of July Fun included
Smelling the smell of cooking skate- I definitely don't recommend being in a house with this cooking. It was gross. I don't like seafood, so didn't try it, but even people who did did not reccommend it. It was a cool catch, though guys.
Lots of fun at the celebration too. Haha, JK! These girls!
I hope someone took some better pics that I can plug in for the first few days of the month!
V and JT went to his family's party that night, which was and always is a huge bash!
Grant and I went to the State Little League Senior All-stars tournament. Cute welcome bag from his coach's family!
Katherine and Danny and friends checked into the State Little League Major Softball Tournament.
super hot opening ceremony night
The shorts were a good call.
Girls, were in Abingdon and had a fun opening ceremony and dinner there.
I was able to watch the girls team on game changer. Unfortunately they lost to a really good team.
I saw the boys every once in a while, but they don't require supervision, so if it wasn't a game or a group meal I pretty much did my own thing. We were near Potomac Mills, so I went there a couple of times or hung out in my hotel room. They did some fun things as a team, like going to this pool at the same park where they played.
and going to a trampoline park!
There was a professional photographer at the tournament, so I saw some really cool K pics! I feel I can see the nerves in this picture- first at bat of the tournament.
Looking to coach Dad
Getting set to bunt!
Look at these cool pics- Kat at bat and running to 1st.
I got to watch game 2 too as G's team was warming up! They ended up winning this one and advancing.
The boys battled hard in the heat, but ultimately they were defeated.
They played again the next day in crazy heat again.
Cute pictures and some great plays, but the boys lost their second game too.
Win or lose, I am still a fan- a fan who is baked and ready to relax in AC for a bit.
Pre-game pics. Briana and Kate
Lily and Coach
Faith, Adriana, Allysa, Briana, and Katherine about to play the National Anthem
Love these! Go, Kate, go!
Peyton hits and Kate advances!
Satisfaction of a win- Ryan, Faith, Kate, Pey, and Mia
Grant and I head back for C's birthday!
Christian turned 19!!!
Happy with some new glasses. Look at this smile- the best!
Cool.
We had a fun dinner with Mia and Tim at El Jaripeo! After ward, Mia and her family had a party for Christian and V and Grant attended. It was really great and he felt loved!
I hated missing it because they put time and effort into the party for my sweet boy and I wanted to made the birthday boy the priority. The problem was that I also had a 5- hour drive to Abingdon because Kate's team had an 8:00 a.m. game and another parent needed to leave and have her daughter joing our room. The family voted that I shouldn't drive even later that night, which was a good safety call because I arrived past midnight and was pretty tired driving. Still, I hate that I didn't celebrate Christian better. He is a great son and I am so proud of the man he is.
Cool team picture.
As much as we like being on the go, some at-home (well in-town) chill summer days are needed!
7-11 day!
Katherine and I love days in the woods and they don't happen enough! Yay for Shenendoah being nearby and a National Parks Pass to enjoy it!
Grant went to Williamsburg to stay with Isaac and his family for a few days! It was nice for him to avoid the last few days of wedding planning chaos. Lorel took a picture of these two boys before golfing- they love being active and love being together!
The main event of July was Victoria and JT's wedding which was amazing! The wedding will get its own post or 2!
I will show the aftermath of the wedding chaos! Haha, it looked much more organized before. I had to just leave it for a little bit though, because my brother, Matt, and his family came for the wedding and their time in VA, and I would rather spend time with them. So, K, G, and I went to the river and the beach with them. Sadly, C and D worked. V and JT were honeymooning!
I had fun with G and
Cameron at an antique store in Urbanna.
I love some of the beachy/rivery items there.
We had a wonderful day at the beach!
Loved seeing the kids enjoying the water
and sand.
I love the grown-ups too!
Thank you, Nina, for being excited about metal detecting with me!
Our amazing haul! Haha!
Love these people!
So, before V and JT came home from their honeymoon, I got to unload their wedding presents at their townhouse!
Not going to lie, it took about 100 trips back and forth from the car to their townhouse, but look how exciting it looks! They were definitely loved and cared for by so many family and friends! I also got to stock their freezer with dinner and reception leftovers. They will definitely feel overwhelmed by everyone's kindness when they see this (you can't even see all the Amazon packages behind the table.) Luckily, before the wedding, V lived in and set up the townhouse for a couple of weeks. We had lots of trips from the storage space to the townhouse, then too, to get the furniture, shower gifts, and items that V had saved in preparation for a marriage, into the home. Did you know that she had been asking for items like Ninja Blenders, Instant Pots, and kitchenware for the past several years?
Their house is looking so pretty, and they have artwork on the way too!
Late night with these kids and Hiram too after a stake pool party!
J recorded the event better. Haha, G!
Ward youth Temple Trip!
V had to get her ring resized and G came too. These jorts gave us a laugh, but he pulls them off!
So.... Grant dislocated his kneecap again at a football conditioning practice while wearing his brace. So, after all of that rehab and PT, insurance finally agreed that it was time for the reconstruction. Poor kid will have to start all over again, but will have a new tendon that isn't ripped in half. His knee should be stronger than before when this is all through, but it is often a very long recovery from MPFL reconstruction. Grant's goal will be for him to be ready for next baseball season, but fall sports are definitely out and most likely winter too. Boo.
G handled it with some humor though. Love him!
Pretending to be high on drugs before he was.
He was pretty sleepy afterward.
So tired.
Brother Carter, Grant's favorite YM leader, brought the kindest present! Balloons, Baja Blast, Candy, and a card with sportscards in it! Grant felt so loved and we were so thankful!
Just some insight as to how we do surgery/ illness recovery. I track medication times, symptoms, etc. Everything stays together.
Also, our friends, the Lee's let us borrow a shower chair. That and this leg cover were such a huge help!
Look at these adorable visitors too. Julianna has been one of Grant's best friends for a couple of years and he became good friends with her cousin, Declan, at FSY this year. Not to mention, his favorite baby, Amelia!
While they were here, they played with air clay. Hilarious. Looks just like him! So glad J took this picture and posted later. Haha!
She likes him too and wanted to stay for a bit. So sweet!
Grandma sent cookies! So sweet!
Recovery is off to a great start!
