Did you know that this girl and I love to play games together, and that we are highly competitive and sometimes trashtalk after winning?
Grant baked for us after his knee surgery. Sweet boy. It gets a little boring lounging with your leg propped up on pillows.
Eve, Kate, and Liam entertained themselves and Grandma with a fun fashion show featuring my old dance recital costumes. They spent the night or a couple of nights there.
Dawson cheered Grant up with some of his favorites: Baja blasts, taco bell, and time together!
Danny took Grant out of the house! He, Christian, and Grant went to see a Nat's game!
Even with crutches, needing to do things a little differently, and feeling exhausted the next day, it was worth it!
Grant's surgeon didn't think that Grant would be up for school by the first day, but he surprised us and went to help with Freshman Orientation.
Kat went to Meet the Teacher.
I had to take a 7th grade picture in front of the sign.
Father's Blessings are a night before the first day of school tradition.
They always help us to feel ready for the school year. I am thankful to have a husband who righteously uses his Priesthood to bless others. I always cry as I listen and think about how much our Heavenly Father loves his children, including my children. He knows them individually, understands their needs, loves them, and wants them to succeed.
Obligatory front porch first day pics for Katherine and Grant.
our middle schooler and high schooler
10th and 7th
It was a good first day and I liked Grant's hypercolor shirt.
It was also a tiring first day back. Kat crashed watching you tube after school.
Thank weekend, the YM and YW presidencies hosted a back-to-school dance. It was a fun one to help with. The youth liked the "after-school" themed snacks, especially the applesauce squeezer packs, which cracked us up.
We also had a meeting to start planning next summer's youth conference. The youth came prepared with a few problems that youth face and possible themes for youth conference. They are so good and wise and I love working with them. Their discussion and ideas impressed me.
We had a small birthday celebration for JT and V! They went to the beach for their birthday weekend!
My mom and I saw Mamma Mia for her birthday. I opened the door wearing this costume and said, "Ready to go?!"
We enjoyed the view of DC from the Kennedy Center.
We especially loved the show!
Grant is really enjoying SCA and I enjoy seeing him on their instagram.
Danny is coaching Katherine's Major softball team again. Go Dragons!
Christian and Mia went to watch the Patriots! Yay for his favorite team!
Christian also started back to school! Again, go Patriots!
Off to classes at George Mason!
He is also still working at Eldon Farms as an Environmental Science Intern. He still loves it. (Picture of him collecting water samples was not from August).
More softball
More SCA
Family outing to see the Nats.
Grant participated in a trivia game
and won.
Later that night we met up with the DeWees family! It was great to see them!
Unpictured: Most of everyone's time at school, getting the house back in order after summer, making regular meals, shopping, some subbing, a lot of work for Danny, a lot of school work at the dining room table for Christian, newlywed life for V and JT, and a little bit of subbing and some time with friends for me.
