Matt and Donovan came to VA to spend some time with Grandpa. Through tender mercies they were both able to see him in the hospital. This took special considerations because the hospital policies had changed to only 1 visitor. (It changed multiple times, but later changed to no visitors at all, which we found to be absolutely inhumane. A topic for another time.) It was a very important visit for Donovan. He really wanted to see him before he went on his mission and knew that this would be his last opportunity. We did not know if this would also be Matt's last time to see him and care for him and express his love.
These pictures undoubtedly are in juxtaposition to the nature of their visit with him, but we were able to meet up with them in Fredericksburg for a few hours. We went to cookout and ate in the car together- tight fit, haha, but most restaurants are still closed. We also went to Fun Land and rode go carts. We were glad to be able to catch up and spend some with them.
