More Eggciting Activities

On Thursday night and Friday we participated in another Worldwide Fast. It was really cool because I shared it with a lot of friends and many participated with us. I was also in a facebook group with over 500,000 people worldwide from all different faiths who were all praying and fasting to Heavenly father to offer relief from the pandemic. It has been inspiring to hear about the spirit that they felt and the blessings that they received by doing this.
Apr 9 | COVID-19 Global Day of Fasting & Prayer - Good Friday ...

Katherine was meal helper for Friday. We made a recipe that I remembered that my kids haven't ever had. (She didn't get dressed on Friday. She always loves to be comfortable, so not going anywhere is good for that.)

"Cookie salad"
It is really a dessert with pudding, whipped cream, mandarin oranges, pineapple, and striped cookies.
It was a winner.

Another recipe that I hadn't made for years that we made this week was chicken and dressing casserole. Another win!

We also made our traditional Easter cupcakes.

We did an Egg Drop Challenge after dinner! It was fun. We dropped our eggs out of Katherine's window. Christian was the first to hit the cement target! Everyone else took several tries. Mine took a few tries and I finally slammed it onto the cement. Unfortunately, we heard it crack.

Victoria put her egg in a bag and tucked it into the center of a roll of toilet paper and wrapped it in more protection. It survived.

Grant's was in a can and surrounded by clay and had a large garbage bag parachute attached.
Christian's egg didn't make it.
Katherine was probably most excited initially because the idea was on the 2nd grade page. Her egg survived the drop! It was wrapped in duct tape and in an egg carton, and had a parachute attached. I wish that I had taken pictures of the actual contraptions that we came up with. They were cool. Unfortunately, when Danny was unwrapping it to check, he accidentally cracked it. Katherine rolled her eyes as she posed with someone else's egg. Sorry, Kate.

We also dyed and decorated Easter eggs that night.

They looked good.

Saturday night, we tidied the house for church and set up for Easter breakfast!

We hope the Easter Bunny comes!
